What you should do if a concussion occurs If you suspect that you may be suffering from concussion, it is best to avoid driving, operating machinery or being left alone. It is important to consult a doctor if the concussion occurred while you were participating in any sport. It is also recommended that you avoid injuring your head a second or third time, as this could cause further damage. Ask for help and rest until you have been evaluated by your doctor.

How to recover after a concussion
You can take several steps to recover quickly. Rest and avoid caffeine-containing products. Rest well. Avoid screens, such as those on your TV and phone. You should have a trusted person nearby to ensure that your symptoms do not worsen.

You are also advised by doctors to refrain from engaging in any mentally or physically stressful activities. Avoid loud noises or bright lights. Alcohol can interfere with your healing. Drink plenty of water, and eat a healthy diet to promote healing. Follow any other instructions that your doctor may give you.
